The Stedman Hospice

This morning Theresa was taken to the Stedman. She traveled by aambulance as she is no longer able to stand. She is reasonably comfortable and pain-free and coherent, just simply drained of physical strength and energy. She is sleeping much of the time so we have limited her visitors to immediate family.

We listened to Reg’s sermon on worship together on Monday night and prayed together afterwards giving back to God the life that God so graciously gave to her which she has shared with me. We are grateful. She is ready. And I am broken.

Hi Andy: I just read your latest blog. My heart is breaking for Theresa, you and the family. I have been praying daily for Theresa since she has been battling with cancer. I know my Prayer life has certainly never been as strong as it has been since Theresa took sick. Theresa has been an inspiration to all of us in the way she handled the cancer. She is a beautiful person and we all love her alot. Our love and prayers are with all of you at this very sad time. Love and prayers, Linda and Jeff

Andy, your message is one we knew was coming but did not want it to be......we weep with you...our lives have been blessed by Theresa and by how you and she have leaned upon the Lord........if there were a way to lessen your pain all of us would do whatever it would take. Know we are with you as brothers and sisters in His family. We pray for you, weep with you and walk along this journey with you as best we can. Love and prayers to Theresa and to you and the kids.

Andy
Ruth Anne continues to beseech the LORD's miraculous intervention for Theresa, and I'm praying with her too. And we pray that Jesus puts His mighty arms around your family and grants all of you comfort, peace and security.

Hey Andy, thank you for your words on your blog. I can't put into words to say how my heart aches for your family at this time, but I know it pails in comparison to what you guys are going through. God will prove Himself faithful and draws near to those who are broken. Our prayers are for strength, comfort and peace.

Andy,
There aren't any words that can take away your heavy heart. We believe in a God that can grant peace in the midst of the darkest storms. Our prayer is that HIS touch would be tangible, HIS presence thick, and HIS love wide. Your family's life is a testament of an unwavoring faith. Much love and prayers. Rachel & Bram Van den Heuvel

Hi Andy: Jeff and I are visiting Becky in Lynchburg this week. She has two days off for fall break. Yesterday she took us to the Liberty Snowplex which is an outdoor snowboard mountain. It was so beautiful up there. All I could think of was Theresa, the children and you. I was in prayer for your family for quite awhile there. It was just so quiet, peaceful and absolutely gorgeous. I felt the Lord there with me as I prayed. I know we often question why this is happening, but we know that someday we will know. Until then I just know that the Lord is always there for us. I read something I would like to share with you: No matter how bleak and hopeless our situation may seem, we can trust God for our good and his Glory. Our love and prayers are always with you Andy, Linda.

Jason and I are grateful to you and Theresa for not only mentoring us but being a Godly example for us in the early days of our relationship. Legacy is what I think of when I think of you in these days.
