A Note From Tee

After reading your notes of encouragement to Theresa today, she composed this note as I typed…

To my family my friends and especially my BCC family:
I have thoroughly enjoyed the last 11 years at BCC, though this past year has been one of the most difficult in my life. Your overwhelming love and prayer support I’m sure has been what’s carried me through. Watching the body of Christ serve one another has really brought His reality into my life. Any time I may have doubted His love I could see it acted out in front of me. I pray that you would continue to minister to one another as you have to me.
With all my love and gratitude,
Theresa

Theresa, you are an amazing gentle and loving woman. You must have been a fantastic mother to your children because the evidence is all over them. They are so kind, caring and generous with each other and I am sure that they will continue to be a tremendous support for each other. You will never be forgotten!!!

To Theresa, Andy and family:
Faith is believing what God says in spite of the circumstances. Faith is simply taking God at His Word. This was written by Jerry Falwell, founder of Liberty University. I read this on a plaque while touring the Jerry Falwell museum. Theresa, your strong faith has been so evident through your battle with cancer. You have been such an inspiration to me.
I pray daily for your entire family. I send my love and prayers to you all. LB

Tee,
Serving one another is something that we have learned by example. You have been a beautiful example of Christ's love to so many of us! Even through this time of suffering and grief, your attitude and love is ministering to people who don't even know you (like friends at work). Thank you my friend! With love, Susan H.

Theresa,
You have done what our Lord has asked of us - you have loved. And you have done it so well. Jesus' love has shone through your eyes, your gentleness, your encouragement, your lack of judgement, and your presence. Thank you for allowing Him to use you as He has. I know that my journey has been influenced by your love, my burden has been made a little more bareable by your encoragement, and I will strive to continue in your example as a woman of God, as a wife, and as a mother.

17 And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering. 18 Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later. 19 For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are. 20 Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse. But with eager hope, 21 the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay. 22 For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. 23 And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children,[a] including the new bodies he has promised us. ~Romans 8:17-23

Tee,
I just wanted to say thank you for your friendship and your unshakable faith in God. You were always so kind to Jackson and I, and welcomed us into your home even when we felt like we didn't really belong anywhere. I am really going to miss your smile, your friendship and your "glow" that just seems to radiate from you. I will miss you more than you can know. I look forward to seeing you again in paradise with our perfected bodies--we can worship Him together (and eat however much shortbread we like without regret!). We love you and will miss you immeasureably.

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for a while, leaving footprints on our hearts, and we are never, ever the same. By:Flavia weedn

Dear Andy, Theresa, Si, Katy & Alex: Suzette & I check your blog daily to know how to pray for your family. Often this scripture passage comes to my mind. "For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD.
9(A) For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."
Isaiah 55:8,9
God's ways don't always seem to make sense to us but that is where our faith must take over.
Theresa; it has been a pure joy to participate on the praise team for all those many years. We thank God for your gentle spirit and the gifts He has given you which in turn you have used to serve our church and ultimately glorify God.
We look forward to the day when; in heaven, there will be no more tears. We will have perfect bodies which we can use to praise our God for all eternity.
Know you are never far from our thoughts and we pray for you and the family frequently.
Love: Gord, Suzette, Derek & Mark.

A patient piano teacher, a genuine worship leader, and a joyful soul in the midst of trial.
Theresa, I have often thought about the last time that I saw you. It was probably a month ago. You were clearly growing weak, and you knew your days here on Earth were drawing to a close, yet you wore on your face a sincere smile. A single smile from you has made me realize how ill prepared I am to face a trial like yours, but it motivates me to grow closer to God. What I mean to say is, thank you.

Theresa and Andy ,
Thank you for your constant and consistant example of what it means to truly walk with Christ. You said you were going to live this journey 'out loud' and your doing so has blessed us all more than you can ever know.
Theresa, thank you for the music on Sunday's, the smiles you so freely give and for allowing us to share this with you. You will be missed so very much - know your life and your example have made such an impact on so many. It was a blessing to know you even a little bit. Sharing in your jouney has matured my faith and brought me closer to our Lord. Words are not enough to thank you for that.
I so look forward to the day when we all meet again and sing and shout for joy in the presence of our God. [and as Beth says we get new bodies and can eat all the shortbread we want! :)
He loves you so very much and so do all of us........

Flatt Family,

Although Brian and I have only known you for a short time, we are greatful for meeting all of you. Your prayers for us as we ventured into starting our family were greatly appreciated. God blessed us with a beautiful baby boy on August 27th. We are so blessed to have him in our life.
As you have prayed for us, we continue to pray for your family. We hope that God continues to bless you with time to be together and to be with you as your lives change. Please let us know if there is anything we can do beyond praying for you. I'm home all the time and just a quick email or phone call away to help doing anything, even the mundane.

Psalm 139
O Lord, you have examined my heart
and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. You see me when I travel
and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord. You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too great for me to understand!
I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there.
If I ride the wings of the morning,
if I dwell by the farthest oceans,
even there your hand will guide me,
and your strength will support me.
I could ask the darkness to hide me
and the light around me to become night—but even in darkness I cannot hide from you. To you the night shines as bright as day.
Darkness and light are the same to you. You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion,
as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered!
I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!

Theresa, we love you and thank you for the blessing that you are to our family and everyone at BCC. God is using your testimony very powerfully. Our love however cannot compare to the love that God has for you! An amazing God we serve!

Praying for you and all the family..That God, who said "Light shall shine out of darkness," is the one who has shone in your hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

Out of Zion , the perfection of beauty, God has shone forth. Ps 50:2

Your absence here will leave a wound in the body, praying that God will not be silent but will shine forth as you leave, in HIs timing , in His will. Lynn

For Theresa:

What a day that will be
When my Jesus I shall see
When he takes me by the Hand
Leads me to the promised land
When I look upon His face
and I see his wondrous grace
What a day, glorious day that will be.
